Aloe Blacc needs a dollar...could this be Charity???

When we have charity, we are willing to serve and help others when it is inconvenient and with no thought of recognition or reciprocation. We don’t wait to be assigned to help, because it becomes our very nature. As we choose to be kind, caring, generous, patient, accepting, forgiving, inclusive, and selfless, we discover we are abounding in charity. This is a small tid bit from a talk given by Sister Silvia H. Allred. I picked Aloe Blacc because of his song "I Need A Dollar".  Some of the Lyrics that make me think of Charity are,

And if I share with you my story would you share your dollar with me

Bad times are coming and I reap what I done sown
(Hey hey)
Well let me tell you something: All that glitters ain't gold
(Hey hey)
It's been a long old trouble, a long old troublesome road
And I'm looking for somebody, come and help me carry this load.

I'll leave this ending open for discussion but please read the last lyric and please post on this.  How do you feel that we can answer or acknowledge his question?

  1. Cool example of charity Elder! When we share eachothers load, as the song says, we are practicing and living the principle of charity, the pure love of Christ. Christ sought to gain only our company in eternity through all of his service and sacrifice for mankind, it was purely for our benefit because His love for us is so great. When we follow this example and step in where we can to help, to love, to listen to eachother we are coming closer to Him and building our understanding of charity and what it truly means to be loved of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. When we understand that, nothing can prevent us from reaching our true potential as sons and daughters of God.
